New Music, New Start, New Post

I am definitely the worst blogger in all of blogging history. I wish I were better at this. It is such a great outlet and I get to talk about my favorite thing! This is the point where I should promise you I'll write more and be better, but I feel like I've done that before and it didn't get me very far. Lets just see how this post goes!

I have so many things on my mind as it relates to the current state of country music. I've often bashed the likes of Sam Hunt and people of his kind for polluting country airwaves with his sorry excuse for country music. I may not share the popular opinion, but if I did, you probably wouldn't be reading this would you? Aaron Lewis has a song called "That Ain't Country" and it's a great. It has everything a real country song should have. I have spent a lot of time listening to it in the car, playing it on my guitar and just trying to understand what happened to get us to where we are now in the world of country music. So much change to something that was so pure. Maybe I'm too much of a traditionalist?

You know what happened this week? Tim McGraw turned 50. Given that math, and the fact that I saw him when I was 8 years old co-headlining with George Strait, that means about 25+ years of Tim McGraw. Luckily for me, he shows no signs of slowing down. It caused me to do some thinking though...I see what he's done with his life, and I can't help but look at my life and think about where I want to take my life. Let me elaborate...Look at how great Tim McGraw looks at 50! Look at the incredible shape he is in! He's been very outspoken about his alcoholism and I find that to be very admirable. It shows that he's human. I know I tend to put him on a pedestal of sorts, so I apologize for that. I had a thought though; am I too old to have a role model?

Tim McGraw is in remarkable shape given his alcoholic history and his age. You would be a fool to disagree. I know that when he started to change his lifestyle, his workout routine consisted of 200 push-ups, sit-ups, and crunches. At first glance, that doesn't seem like much, but it was much more difficult to do than I expected. I will be following that routine until it becomes easy. I want to make my life better. I want to improve my QUALITY of life. So my next few posts will be about that process and the effects I feel as I progress.

I'm gonna go ahead and end now and let you know that I'm really excited for the future and ready to share my experience with anyone who reads this! I'll catch y'all down the road!
